Fjorden Baby! will perform at Bergenfest 2024 Friday, June 14!

The legendary cult band Fjorden Baby! is back! After four critically acclaimed albums, beloved hits like "Karoline" and "Himmelen," and extensive touring, they have established themselves nationwide, achieving legendary status in their hometown of Bergen. As pioneers of the Loddefjord wave and steady providers of colorful music and urban subculture, Fjorden Baby! are important identity bearers in the city.

It's easy to highlight the album "Fjordkloden," named the year's best record by the collective Norwegian music press in 2013, but all their albums have been praised by critics. From their self-titled album on Mikal Telle's Opplett label in 2009, "Se Deg Rundt I Rommet" from 2011 to "Fjordkloden," and most recently "Oh Yeah" in 2015. They have collaborated with like-minded Bergen natives John Olav Nilsen, who guested on the radio hit "Igjen Og Igjen," and Lars Vaular, who delivered his guest verse on the classic, "11. etasje."

Especially known for their incredible live shows, the band has played across the country for two decades, visiting several of Norway's largest festivals. Fjorden Baby! was also named Live Band of the Year by Bergens Tidende in 2013.

Ten years later, Fjorden Baby! returned with a much-anticipated and sold-out Norwegian tour, including a concert at the Kulturhuset in Bergen during the Christmas season, which sounded like half the Brann Battalion chanting in the audience. This summer, they will play at Norway's biggest festivals, including their first concert at Bergenfest. And come spring, there will be new music too!

Can the band still kick it live in their not-so-spring chicken years? Absolutely. Take the P13's channel manager, Kristin Winsents, word for it, as she declared Fjorden Baby!'s concert at Blå in Oslo in September 2023 as the Best Concert of the Year on NRK P13's Stjernepose.
