Max McNown is a singer-songwriter from Bend, Oregon, now based in Nashville. He only learned to play guitar a few years ago, yet still released three EPs in quick succession. His breakthrough came with the single “A Lot More Free,” which landed him on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. His first listeners found him through videos of busking on a pier in California, and since then the audience has grown rapidly, with tens of millions of streams and an increasingly devoted fanbase around songs like “A Lot More Free,” “Wandering” and “Love I Couldn’t Mend.”
With a warm, strikingly beautiful voice, McNown carries his intimate, melodic songs almost on his own. At Bergenfest, this will be a set that connects most deeply with those willing to slow down and listen.
