Additional Information

So, here’s the deal – You work a minimum of 18–20 hours, and in return you’ll receive the full festival experience free of charge and perks such as discounted prices at the bars and food stalls. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are, of course, included when you’re on duty. 

You have to be 18 years or older by the 10th of June 2026 to volunteer for Bergenfest. No formal qualifications or organizational experience is required.

The main responsibility of the transport team is to drive between the airport, hotels, and concert venues, transporting equipment and artists. You should be a confident and responsible driver, familiar with the city, and punctual and reliable in everything you do. There’s no room for delays or forgetfulness in this role.

As a driver, you’ll meet a wide range of people and work closely with a team leader who coordinates pick-ups and drop-offs. This is a rewarding role where you’ll interact with many different parts of the organization and gain insight into how crucial logistics are to large-scale events. The tasks are varied, and there’s rarely a dull moment in the transport team.

Working hours: Day and evening. Before, during and after the festival.
Suitable for: Punctual, independent and steady drivers. We prefer applicants who know Bergen well. A licence higher than Class B is an advantage.

Help us achieve our goal of becoming one of Europe’s greenest festivals! As a volunteer in the sustainability team, you’ll help ensure that the festival site remains clean, welcoming, and environmentally friendly. Your tasks include clearing waste, sorting and handling recyclables, and supporting our overall sustainability efforts. As part of this team, you’ll act as an environmental ambassador, informing guests about our sustainability initiatives and encouraging environmentally conscious choices throughout the festival.

Working hours: Day and evening. During the festival. 
Suitable for: People who are efficient and enjoy physical work.

The volunteer team looks after all our volunteers during the festival and ensures they have a positive experience while on shift. You’ll check in and register volunteers, distribute wristbands, T-shirts, and meal vouchers, and make sure they have a comfortable place to relax and take breaks. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new people and motivating others.

Working hours: Day and evening. Before and during the festival.
Suitable for: Outgoing individuals who enjoy working with people.

You’re the ones who keep everyone happy! You’ll be working in the festival kitchen, preparing and serving both hot and cold food, washing dishes, and keeping the area clean and tidy for all our hungry guests. You’ll work as part of a team and receive training in the various tasks. This role requires you to be organised, efficient, and attentive to cleanliness and order.

The catering team is looking for dedicated volunteers who enjoy working in a kitchen environment!

Working hours: Day and evening. Before and during the festival.
Suitable for: Service-minded and organised people.

This team ensures that the arena is ready and built before the gates open to the public. We need help with everything from building and dismantling the stage, fencing, loading, setting up tents, preparing infrastructure, and laying flooring. While not all tasks require prior experience, some rigging work does. Please write “experience” in the application form if relevant. Physically demanding and extremely important work!

Working hours: Day and evening. Before, during and after the festival.
Suitable for: People who enjoy physical work and are efficient.

No two days are the same in the dressing room house — and that’s what makes this role so much fun! Tasks vary widely and can include cleaning and maintaining backstage areas, running short errands on foot, operating the backstage bar, emptying bins, folding towels, and even making waffles — just to name a few. Backstage, our goal is to make the artists feel as comfortable and well taken care of as possible. The team is made up of a great mix of people, including artist hosts, backstage coordinators, runners, and others.

There are often many people in the house at the same time, as we host a large number of artists. This means you need to work efficiently and calmly, and be able to find smart solutions to get everything done.

Suitable for: Professional, organised, and solution-oriented individuals

As a festival host, you’re often the first person guests meet when they arrive at the arena. Your main responsibility is to ensure that everyone has a positive experience and feels safe throughout the festival. You support the security team by acting as their extra eyes and ears across the festival site. You’ll answer questions from guests, notify security when necessary, check wristbands, and help create a welcoming and safe atmosphere. We’re looking for volunteers to work at entrances, around the stages, and at various checkpoints throughout the arena.

This is a responsible role that requires you to stay calm under pressure. If you’re outgoing and enjoy working with people, this could be the perfect role for you.

Suitable for: You are responsible, attentive, and enjoy working with people.

As a volunteer in the Information Team, you’ll be part of a friendly group serving as the festival audience’s first point of contact. In other words, we’re looking for people who are service-minded and always bring a smile!

If you’d like to be part of the welcome committee, this is the team for you. You’ll meet just about everyone, handle a wide range of questions and challenges, and be ready to answer almost anything.

Suitable for: People who enjoy teamwork and are service-minded, helpful, and approachable.
