Ora The Molecule will perform at Bergenfest 2026 Saturday, June 13.
Disco isn’t dead – it’s just moved into a cabin in Ringerike. That’s where producer, DJ, songwriter and composer Ora The Molecule, dubbed Norway’s disco queen by NRK, creates her brand of italodisco and 70s-inspired club music, with clear nods to heroes like Cerrone and Giorgio Moroder.
She broke through with the album Human Safari in 2021 on the New York-based label Mute Records, home to artists like Depeche Mode, New Order and Kraftwerk. Since then, she has toured as support for Röyksopp, Poolside and Young the Giant, and also hit the road with Hubbabubbaklubb. Last year, she sold out Parkteatret in Oslo, confirming that audiences have fully embraced her disco universe.
In March 2025, she released the album Dance Therapy, continuing her own world of intergalactic electronica, dancefloor-ready rhythms and a distinct, slightly surreal narrative voice. The single “Løveskatt” has already received strong support from DJs such as Prins Thomas, Olefonken, Rune Lindbæk and Lindstrøm, and found its way into clubs around the world.
As a DJ, she has played venues like KOKO in London and Point Ephémère in Paris, sharing line-ups with artists such as Yuksek, Maya Jane Coles, Poolside and Todd Terje. The result is a musical universe that, as The Revue put it, “belongs equally in one of the Guggenheim’s art installations as it does in London’s most exclusive nightclubs.” At Bergenfest, the audience meets a true disco queen with her eyes firmly set on the dancefloor.
