Sarah Julia will perform at Bergenfest 2026 Wednesday, June 10.
Sarah Julia is a sister duo making low-key indie folk with close vocal harmonies and diary-like lyrics. Their music grows out of a shared upbringing and a common musical backdrop, where artists like Cat Stevens and Joni Mitchell were later joined by Bon Iver and Ben Howard.
Their debut EP How Do We Go Back To Being Normal? earned them a small but dedicated following, while the 2025 follow-up Only Making It Worse opens the sound toward something slightly more pop-leaning, without losing the intimacy of their earlier work.
We’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the Dutch duo once before at Bergen Live Sessions, and we know this is a concert worth catching. At Bergenfest, two voices, beautiful arrangements shaped by acoustic guitar, harp and cello, and intimate lyrics come together to create their distinctive, delicate sound.
